Il Phishing è una tecnica relativamente semplice usata da LADRI
telematici,
per appropriarsi della username e password altrui al fine di effettuare
operazioni al posto vostro.

Chi vi scrive cerca di impossessarsi dei vostri dati la coppia nome
utente e password sono le chiavi d’accesso
al vostro conto, è facile trovare nella propria casella email false
comunicazioni nomebanca@banca.it.

Per evitare spiacevoli conseguenze bisogna

1) Svegliarsi quando si è davanti ad un computer
2) NON Cliccare MAI SU NESSUN LINK che vi arriva via mail
3) nessuna banca ne Italiana ne estera vi chiede di inserire i codici
d’accesso ne tantomeno di confermarli.
4) scrivete direttamente nella barra degli indirizzi del vostro browser
il sito es. WWW.BANCA.IT
5) controllare se si è su connessione protetta e controllare il
certificato del server (semplice click sul catenaccio in basso a destra)
6) NON COMUNICATE A TERZI I VOSTRI CODICI PERSONALI.

There is a virus out now being sent to people via email…
it is called the A.I.D.S. VIRUS. It will destroy your memory, sound
card and speakers, hard drive and it will infect your mouse or
pointing device..as well as your keyboards making what you type not
able to register on the screen.
It self terminates only after it eats 5MB of hard drive space & will
delete all programs. It will come via E-mail called “OPEN: VERY
COOL! ”. Delete it immediately!! It will basically render your
computer useless. PASS IT ON QUICKLY & TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS
POSSIBLE!! THANKS!! >>

The “Organ Theft” Hoax (aggiornato il 17 Maggio 1998)

Organ Theft Hoax Warning

This story came from the “INSERT ANY NEWSPAPER HERE”
newspaper. Apparently it occurred during Fall Premier-a
University tradition that is a celebration of the end of
midterms. “Reason to not party anymore”- This guy went out
last Saturday night to a party. He was having a good time,
had a couple of beers and some girl seemed to like him and
invited him to go to another party. He quickly agreed and
decided to go along with her. She took him to a party in
some apartment and they continued= to drink, and even got
involved with some other drugs (unknown which). The next
thing he knew, he woke up completely naked in a bathtub
filled with ice.

He was still feeling the effects of the drugs, but looked
around to see he was alone. He looked down at his chest,
which had: “CALL 911 OR YOU WILL DIE” written on it in
lipstick. He saw a phone was on a stand next to the tub, so
he picked it up and dialed. He explained to the EMS operator
what the situation was and that he didn’t know where he was,
what he took, or why he was really calling. She advised him
to get out of the tub. He did, and she asked him to look
himself over in the mirror. He did, and appeared normal, so
she t= old him to check his back. He did, only to find two 9
inch slits on his lower back. She told him to get back in
the tub immediately, and they sent a rescue team over.

Apparently, after being examined, he found out more of what
had happened. His kidneys were stolen. They are worth
10,000 dollars each on the black market.

I wish to warn you about a new crime ring that is targeting
business travelers. This ring is well organized, well
funded, has very skilled personnel, and is currently in most
major cities and recently very active in New Orleans. The
crime begins when a business traveler goes to a lounge for a
drink at the end of the work day. A person in the bar walks
up as they sit alone and offers to buy them a drink. The
last thing the traveler remembers until they wake up in a
hotel room bath tub, their body submerged to their neck in
ice, is sipping that drink. There is a note taped to the
wall instructing them not to move and to call 911. A phone
is on a small table next to the bathtub for them to call.
The business traveler calls who have become quite familiar
with this crime. The business traveler is instructed by the
911 operator to very slowly and carefully reach behind them
and feel if there is a tube protruding from their lower
back. The business traveler finds the tube and answers,
“Yes.” The 911 operator tells them to remain still, having
already sent paramedics to help. The operator knows that
both of the business traveler’s kidneys have been harvested.

This is not a scam or out of a science fiction novel, it is
real. It is documented and confirmable. If you travel or
someone close to you travels, please be careful. Sadly,
this is very true. My husband is a Houston Firefighter/EMT
and they have received alerts regarding this crime ring. It
is to be taken very seriously. The daughter of a friend of a
fellow firefighter had this happen to her. Skilled doctor’s
are performing these crimes! (which, by the way have been
highly noted in the Las Vegas area). Additionally, the
military has received alerts regarding this. This story blew
me away. I really want as many people to see this as
possible so please bounce this to whoever you can.

Speeding Ticket Hoax

I tried to pass this one to anyone I could think of.
I know for a fact that this works so if you ever get in this
situation, you have an out This procedure works in any
state.
Read it and try it, you have nothing to loose but the
points in your license.” Nameless author.

If u get a speeding ticket or went through a red light or
whatever the case may be, and you are going to get points on
your license, then there is a method to ensure that you DO
NOT get any points. When u get your fine, send in the check
to pay for it and if the fine is say $79, then make the
check out for $82 or some small amount above the fine. The
system will then have to send you back a check for the
difference, but here is the trick! —DO NOT CASH THE
CHECK!! Throw it away! Points are not assessed to your
license until all the financial transactions are complete.
If you do not cash the check, then the transactions are not
complete. However the system has gotten its money so it is
happy and will not bother you any more.

Una bufala indica un tentativo di ingannare un pubblico presentando
deliberatamente per reale qualcosa di falso o artefatto. Si distingue
generalmente dalla truffa, un reato, per la mancanza di intenzionalità
da parte di chi la racconta e/o per la mancanza di profitto a scapito
delle vittime.

La Donazione di Costantino è probabilmente uno dei più antichi falsi
storici a noi noti. Molti ritengono che sia stato costruito dalla
Chiesa Cattolica medievale, con lo scopo di giustificare il potere
temporale del papato agli occhi dei regni occidentali.

In tempi più recenti, la cosiddetta “lettera di Zinoviev” fu un falso
creato dal servizio segreto britannico allo scopo di aiutare il
partito conservatore nelle elezioni del 1924.

Esempi contemporanei [modifica]

Il termine in particolare al giorno d’oggi indica quei messaggi
(inviati per posta elettronica), contenenti comunicati o richieste di
aiuto di contenuto fasullo e ingannevole, che invitano ad essere
rispediti al maggior numero di persone, in modo da aumenterne la
diffusione in maniera esponenziale. Principalmente si tratta di
leggende metropolitane, che magari prendono spunto da fatti realmente
accaduti (in una piccola parte dei casi si ispirano a veri casi
umanitari, ma continuano a girare anche anni dopo che il caso è
risolto o il destinatario degli aiuti è defunto, arrivando a
perseguitarne i parenti); spesso riguardano virus inesistenti che
eseguirebbero fantasiose operazioni distruttive (gran parte delle
quali irrealizzabili da un punto di vista tecnico).

Si tratta di una forma particolare di spamming, che spesso fa leva sui
buoni sentimenti delle persone che, spinte ingenuamente dal desiderio
di compiere una buona azione, senza prima effettuare alcuna seria
verifica sul contenuto inviano copia del messaggio a tutti i propri
conoscenti; in tal modo possono arrivare ad intasare i server di posta
elettronica con migliaia di messaggi inutili. Raramente questi
messaggi contengono virus oppure link a siti web (anch’essi con
contenuto falso e/o pubblicitario).

Sempre più spesso inoltre può trattarsi di veri e propri tentativi di
truffa, specie quando contengono promesse di facili guadagni o
richieste di denaro (vedi ad esempio truffa alla nigeriana e truffa di
Valentin).

È da sottolineare che tecnicamente è impossibile registrare il
traffico email (e inoltre sarebbe violazione della privacy), per cui
non credete alla email che chiedono di essere inviate a più persone
possibile in modo che vengano accreditati soldi a qualche bisognoso,
tra l’altro solitamente inesistente.

In ambito informatico è invalso l’uso di di identificarle anche col
nome inglese di hoax. Giova ricordare che la Netiquette vieta
qualsiasi tipo di catena di Sant’Antonio, in cui rientrano anche i
casi di hoax.

Di seguito due esempi di bufala:

* Allarme Virus! Se ricevi un messaggio con oggetto WIN A HOLIDAY
non aprirlo. Formatterà immediatamente il contenuto del tuo hard disk.
Si tratta di un nuovo virus non ancora conosciuto, inoltra questa
informazione a tutti i tuoi amici … (in genere sono presenti anche
citazioni di fonti di conferma autorevoli come AOL, Microsoft ed
altri, ovviamente fasulle)

* UN POVERO BAMBINO HA UNA MALFORMAZIONE CONGENITA CON
COMPLICAZIONI E NECESSITA DI UN TRAPIANTO COSTOSISSIMO: IL COSTO
DELL’OPERAZIONE È DI $ 560.000. LA LEGA PER LA LOTTA CONTRO LE
MALATTIE GENETICHE PAGHERA’ $0.01 PER OGNI E-MAIL INVIATA CON OGGETTO
“AIUTA NICOLAS”. È NECESSARIO INVIARE QUESTO MESSAGGIO IN TUTTO IL
MONDO. SERVONO 56 MILIONI DI MESSAGGI PER FINANZIARE L’OPERAZIONE.
NICOLAS HA BISOGNO DI NOI PER TORNARE A SORRIDERE!! SALVIAMO QUESTO
BIMBO CHE LOTTA CONTRO LA MORTE … (tra l’altro è impossibile
controllare su tutti i server del mondo le email inviate e contare
quelle con un determinato messaggio in oggetto).

Un altro esempio recente (inizio 2006):

* PER FAVORE FAI CIRCOLARE QUESTO AVVISO TRA I TUOI AMICI E CONTATTI.

Nei prossimi giorni dovete stare attenti a non aprire nessun messaggio
chiamato “invitation”, indipendentemente da chi lo invia , è un virus
che “apre” una torcia olimpica che brucia il disco fisso del pc.
Questo virus verrà da una persona che avete nella lista dei contatti
per questo dovete divulgare questa mail, è preferibile ricevere questo
messaggio 25 volte che ricevere il virus ed aprirlo. Se ricevete un
messaggio chiamato “invitation” non lo aprite e spegnete
immediatamente il pc. È il peggior virus annunciato dalla CNN
classificato da Microsoft come il virus più distruttivo mai esistito.
Questo virus è stato scoperto ieri pomeriggio da MCAfee è non c’è
soluzione ancora per questo virus. Questo virus distrugge
semplicemente il Settore Zero del disco fisso dove l’informazione
vitale è nascosta. Invia questa mail a chi conosci, copia questa posta
e spediscila ai tuoi amici e contatti e ricorda che se lo invii a
tutti loro, ci beneficeremo tutti noi.
(N.B. Più i riferimenti sono altisonanti – CNN, Microsoft, McAfee -
più è probabile che il messaggio sia fasullo!)

Particolarmente significativa è stata l’ondata di messaggi di
indignazione contro il sito bonsaikitten.com, nel quale un sedicente
“scienziato cinese” affermava di vendere in tutto il mondo dei kit per
la preparazione di gatti in bottiglia. Il sito era un’evidente burla,
ma questo non è bastato ad impedire alla polizia americana (e in
seguito anche a quella italiana) di ottenere la chiusura e
l’oscuramento del sito.
